Ariana Grande kicks off her upcoming Eternal Sunshine tour in 2026, marking her first extended run of shows in seven years. But after that, don’t expect her to hit the road for the foreseeable future.
On the Tuesday episode of Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast, the Wicked: For Good star said that she plans on taking an indefinite break from touring once she completes the scheduled 41 shows for Eternal Sunshine. The tour kicks off in Oakland, Calif., on June 6, 2026, and concludes at London’s O2 Arena on Sept. 1, 2026, after a 10-show run at the venue.
“I’m going to do a small stint of shows next year because that is, like, something that authentically sounded good to me,” Grande said. “I think following those authentic impulses feels like a good idea.”
What Grande has learned over the years is that she can have more than one creative endeavor. While she loves performing as a pop star, the 32-year-old actress doesn’t want to limit herself and the scope of what she can achieve as an artist.
“The last, you know, 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up,” she said. “And I don’t want to say any definitive things like, I, I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time, you know? So I’m going to give it my all, and it’s going to be beautiful. And I’m so grateful that I think that’s why I’m doing it, because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah!’ For now.”
The “Imperfect for You” singer explained she’s merely trying to prioritize her intuition — and what feels right for her in a given moment.
“I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theater and comedy,” she said. “So I think the thing that will be, like, best for my soul and also for my art and for what I’m giving myself to is if I’m chasing things that sort of feel just very right in the moment, even if it’s spontaneous, if it’s something different.”
But Grande isn’t one for finite statements. Just as the Eternal Sunshine tour is her last one “for now,” doing another Wicked film isn’t off the table either.
“If we’ve learned anything from Cher, we can count on there always being another farewell tour,” Grande said during a recent Wicked: For Good panel in Los Angeles. “So I don’t think anyone’s going anywhere.”
When she isn’t planning and preparing for the Eternal Sunshine tour, Grande continues to work as an actress. Less than a year after starring as Glinda the Good in Jon M. Chu’s blockbuster Wicked, fans will see Grande back on the big screen this week, when the second installment, Wicked: For Good, debuts in theaters. Grande, who received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Glinda, is currently promoting the upcoming film.
Next, Grande will turn her attention to late-night sketch comedy when she hosts the Saturday Night Live Christmas special on Dec. 20. She’s no stranger to 30 Rock: The “Supernatural” singer made her SNL hosting debut in 2016, when she pulled double duty as both host and musical guest and was part of the most-viewed SNL sketch of the 2024-25 season.
Two months after the Eternal Sunshine tour wraps, Grande will dazzle as “ball-busting” fiancée Olivia Jones in Focker In-Law, the long-awaited fourth film in the Meet the Parents franchise, which hits theaters on Nov. 26, 2026.
